The Children’s Center
The Behavioral Associates Children’s Center is dedicated to providing compassionate, effective and comprehensive care for each child, teen and family that walks through our door (ages 4 -17). Our goal is to provide an environment where children and their families are given the support and care needed to thrive and make positive changes.
Common reasons families begin working with us include:
- To treat ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, poor school performance
- To obtain a diagnosis through psychological testing
To obtain an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at school.
To assess behavioral and/or emotional disturbances.
An Individualized and Medication Free Approach
Each member of the Children’s Center has a specific expertise in working with children and uses a “medication as a last resort approach.” We believe in fully understanding the challenges at hand and creating a unique, individualized treatment plan for each child. This often includes:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), parent-management training
Short term, effective treatment that emphasizes concrete, hands on coping skills.Psychological Testing and QEEG Brain Mapping
Assessing symptoms in order to provide a balanced, comprehensive summary of your child’s needs.Biofeedback, Neurofeedback and Virtual Reality Therapy
Medication free approaches to ADHD, anxiety, phobias and more.
Scheduling the Initial Consultation
The initial consultation is a 30 minute preliminary conversation between the parent and/or guardian and Dr. Heather Davidson, Director of Child and Adolescent Services. This session allows our program director to get a better understanding of your needs and goals in order to create a treatment plan. Please use the contact form or call us at (212) 860 8500 to schedule the appointment. We look forward to working with you!
