Forensic Evaluation
A “forensic evaluation” involves more than a standard psychological evaluation. Our team of experts has extensive experience administering a wide range of psychological tests that pertain to specific legal questions. Our psychologists have experience both in and out of the courtroom, and have testified as experts in various legal contexts.
At Behavioral Associates, our psychologists conduct forensic evaluations involving both criminal and civil matters, and we work and testify for both plaintiffs and the defense.
We conduct the following types of forensic evaluations (including but not limited to):
Criminal Proceedings
- Trial Competency
- Waiver of Miranda Rights
- Criminal Responsibility
- Death Penalty Mitigation
- Impact of Mental Illness or Substance Abuse on Behavior
- Malingering
Civil Proceedings
- Personal Injury
- Mental Disability
- Employment Discrimination
- Professional Malpractice
- Civil Commitment
- Neuropsychological functioning (e.g., memory problems, dementia)
- Malingering
Forensic Consultation
In addition to performing forensic evaluations and providing expert testimony, our psychologists meet with attorneys and consult with members of the legal community regarding the abovementioned criminal and civil issues.
At Behavioral Associates, our forensic evaluations, oral feedback and written reports are offered in a timely fashion, communicated clearly, and always provide recommendations that are helpful and relevant to the specific psycho-legal questions at hand.
